I listened to the DS106 radio show by Emily H., Sam H., Maddie M., and Brigid W. I really enjoyed it. The show was put together well with smooth transitions, and the radio bumpers and commercials were creative. The intro felt like a real radio broadcast and the topics fit the cyberpunk/tech noir theme while also getting to real world issues. The volume was in consistant but overall it was a really well put together show and impressive.

Second update of radio process
This week, my group and I met at the DKC to finalize our podcast plans. After further discussions about commercials and bumpers, we were able to lock in all the details and move forward with recording.
With everything planned out we got to work and recorded the entire podcast. The process went smoothly and after some mixing and editing we now have a fully completed episode.
In addition to recording the podcast I also created a brand-new radio bumper and commercial

Poster

Here is a poster I created for the sho, this can be used to advertise and promote the show. It is a simple black and white contrast spilt down the middle to play into the title of the show “The Opposites”. I also added black and white radio waves to also go with the black and white theme it also takes insperation from the yin yang symbol which also is a symbol for opposites. Lastly i added a little “On Air” neon sign in the bottom corner opposite from where i placed the title, this sign is just a simple detail that is something you would see in a recording studio

Moon Graffiti
Moon Graffiti by The Truth Podcast did an amazing job with the into sounds creating an immersive audio as if I was there to hear all the sounds from the moon landing. All the audio they used came together amazingly to create a story. This is a great way to use only audio to create a story. The eerie sound effects did a great job of creating an atmosphere of the unknown

PhotoBlitz

I tried my best to find the pictures to match the prompts given but I realized that there was no way for me to get my hands on a printed newspaper. I used some small albums cover canvas I have hanging in my room and used 0.5 on the iPhone camera to make it appear larger than what it really is. For the number prompt I used an autograph jersey I have in my room because it is my favorite number. The shadow was interesting because even though in standing directly in front of the light source only my legs appear with no upper body. And the solid color I just used the first bright color thing I could find

Design reflection
After watching the videos and reading the articles a thing that stuck out to me is that when creating anything it takes a while to get the idea to translate to the project. It begins as a general concept and oftentimes the creators have a general idea of how they want to go about it based on things they’ve seen that they liked. This inspiration can be found in many things, sometimes it is related to what the creator is trying to create and other times it can be completely different. Also color and colors schemes play a huge factor when creating, color is one of the first things the eyes recognize. Bright colors catch the eyes quicker than duller colors, but too many colors can also negatively affect the project by seeming as if there is too much going on.

Flim review
Before I even thought about this class I have been hearing about black mirror for a while, and I thought what I heard about it was very interesting so when I see that it was on the list of movies and shows I decided to give it a watch. And it was indeed very interesting the way the show goes into the dark side of technology and the way it impacts society and human nature. The dark side is an uncommon perspective on technology most films show the good and how beneficial technology can be, that’s why I like the perspective that black mirror takes and showing what usually isn’t seen in media
